Two years ago today I was sitting in a hospital in Maryland beginning the R-EPOCH chemotherapy regimen for Stage 4 Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma. Last year I was in Colorado with my daughter Anastasia getting a central line implanted for treatment she was told would last the rest of her life. Today, I woke up in our dear friend’s Joe & Robin’s house in NJ cancer free. Anastasia's here and that port in her chest has been removed, she's feeling stronger and in charge. These FTB shows have been a large part of the healing process, the support, encouragement and love that have flowed back to me is a main reason I survived. The financial support has been a lifeline for my family during what can best be described as terrifying and uncharted. The overwhelming birthday wishes received today solidified that the best way to spend the start of my 64th was playing records with you. It’s a different kind of episode, so get comfy and leave some room for cake. https://paypal.me/pools/c/8beKwFWlHR
There’s so much happening for a country standing still. Up is down, down is up and we are definitely not all together… goo goo ga joob. On the bright side, equipment problems are thankfully in the past and we are all still here, so let’s just play some music together. Episode 90 finds a new Reggae tribute to Gil Scott-Heron and Brian Jackson from The Archives that is quite timely, as well as new things from Bettye LaVette, Joseph Arthur, Travis, Elvis Costello, Glen Hansard, Winterpills, John Scofield (with Steve Swallow and Bill Stewart), Neil Finn (with Stevie Nicks & Christine McVie), Ben Gibbard, Bob Mould, Chuck Prophet, Jazz Sabbath, The Explorers Club and Trashcan Sinatras. Anastasia and I will pull some goodies from John Lennon, The Blue Nile, Grapes Of Wrath, Johnny Thunders, The Clash, Ian Hunter and a ton more to make everything work if you let it. This is a long one with gratitude and love for all your support. Thanks for listening and being you. Really. https://paypal.me/pools/c/8beKwFWlHR
I have had an equipment hiccup in the temporary HQ of Joe's Garage, which at best case scenario makes recording a new show unlikely until about 6/11 or 6/12. Let's hope for the best. In the interim, as promised, I will make some old shows from my days at The Loft available. Here are 2 such examples. First is the complete Saturday show from June 17, 2017 and an episode of After Dark from my 61st Birthday, June 20, 2017. No playlist available for this you will need to wing it, like I did putting it together. Best experienced after dark as designed. Thanks so much for your continued support at https://paypal.me/pools/c/8beKwFWlHR and your wonderful notes, even the ones without dead presidents on them.

I am having studio problems in Joe's Garage and am unable to do a new show right now. I'll get it all fixed soon but in the meantime here's a full show from 3 years ago. At the time of recording we had just come back on the satellites after being taken down for Memorial Day. I was starting to feel sick but ignored it, chalking it up to too much stress at work. Little did I know. To see the playlist... go here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B7Mlh0jipIeiZkl4Q0ZaYWdRLTQ/view?usp=sharing
This one is for everyone but I will be posting the next day's show for Select Subscribers only by tomorrow. Stay safe, wash your hands and hope for things to get better.
