Episode #27 pays tribute to the legendary Tony Joe White and features a dive into the sprawling R.E.M. at The BBC box. Also the rebirth of The Flesh Eaters, new stuff from Neil Young, Minus The Bear and a brilliant new Paisley Underground project featuring The Three O'Clock, Rain Parade, The Bangles and The Dream Syndicate. We explore more from the sublime new albums from Colin Devlin, Darren Jesse and David Byrne and dig deep for some treasures by Mott The Hoople, Mickey Newbury, The Stranglers and The Walker Brothers to name a few. Finally getting my "sea legs" under me but still not sure if it's merely a B flat.
Recovery and remembering are on the agenda for episode 26. Now that the chemo is finished recovery begins with new music from Joan Jett, Matthew Perryman Jones, Graham Parker, The Grip Weeds, They Might Be Giants, The English Beat, James Maddock, Greg Laswell, Sam Phillips, Tony Joe White and more. We remember Marty Balin, Otis Rush and especially John Wicks of The Records, dig a little deeper into the Petty Box and open up the amazing "Ultimate Imagine." Exhausted, hopeful and rooting for The Brewers may I present From The Basement, episode 26.
