Have an absolutely beautiful rest of your life.
Many have asked how to get playlists and especially offline listening/downloads of my show. This is the best way I could find to make that happen. I am charging the minimum allowed, and will be putting some members only stuff up. It removes limits, gives you the playlist up front and allows you to listen when and where you like. From The Basement will always be available as it is. Free to all. This is an option for an enhanced experience. Your support so far has been unbelievable and I sincerely thank you for being here. Here's the first exclusive for Select Subscribers.
A flurry of new releases dominate From The Basement #73 (Joe’s Garage Act XXXIII) but the show is centered around a very special new offering from Joe Henry. Warren Zanes new collection Come On Up To The House: Women Sing Waits is also represented with contributions from Aimee Mann, Corinne Bailey Rae and sisters Shelby Lynne and Allison Moorer. There’s a new album from Beck, a new tune from The Drive-By Truckers, a pair from Sir Paul McCartney, more from The Pernice Brothers and posthumous offerings from Harry Nilsson and Leonard Cohen. As if that was not enough, some historic concert material has surfaced from The Band and Jimi Hendrix. We also pay our respects to Spirit Of The West leader John Mann, who has left us at the tender age of 59. Thanks to all that have contributed to our Fall Fund Drive, you have been most generous as usual. We are always accepting offerings at https://paypal.me/pools/c/8beKwFWlHR and with The Holidays around the corner, check out some music for sale at https://www.discogs.com/user/mike_marrone it’s always just the right thing to give the gift of music.
Episode #72 (Joe’s Garage Act XXXII) is a bit heavy on nostalgia, as I have been digging through my CD collection and listing things for sale, reminding me of some great stuff I haven’t played in a while. Don’t worry, there are still some wonderful new sounds included, especially the return of A Girl Called Eddy (Erin Moran) and The Raconteurs.
We also manage to find some space for a beautiful, expanded and remastered reissue of Gene Clark’s classic “No Other” album. Speaking of sales, as part of the Mike’s Basement/Joe’s Garage Fall Fund Drive, don’t forget to visit https://www.discogs.com/user/mike_marrone and stock up, there’s new stuff added every day as I divest myself of thousands of pounds of boxes! If you are looking to simply donate to the cause, that link is https://paypal.me/pools/c/8beKwFWlHR and believe me, every donation is appreciated more than you can imagine. Thanks for listening.
