It's another Dispatch from Colorado as I am still in Colorado with Anastasia and getting ready to bring her home. We pay tribute to the late Dr. John and Roky Erickson and dig into a bunch of new releases from Perry Farrell, Rickie Lee Jones, Jesse Malin, Liam Gallagher, Eagles Of Death Metal covering Mary J. Blige, the return of Pete Yorn, a new Bon Iver single and Peter Frampton's final album. My Jersey homeboys, The Smithereens have been inducted to the NJ Hall Of Fame and that event gets some time this episode. There's also some new/old things from the Prince Estate, Dave Hause, Steve Miller, Peter Gabriel, Ian Hunter, Chuck Prophet, The Righteous Brothers and the proverbial whole bunch more. If you have yet to donate to the cause, please consider digging deep now. Thanks to everyone for the generosity and support. https://paypal.me/pools/c/8beKwFWlHR
The full Wake-Up Sets and Morning Show from June 6, 2017. This was the day the channel returned to the satellites after being taken down for Roadtrip Radio on Memorial Day Weekend. By this time it was clear the powers that be had no use for The Loft, since we had planned to air Loft Session #500 featuring Richard Thompson in front of a live audience over the Holiday Weekend.
A milestone episode, #60 finds your humble host visiting daughter Anastasia in beautiful Colorado. We haven’t been together in a year and a half but our musical bond only gets stronger as time continues to push forward. There are new sounds from Lloyd Cole, Mavis Staples (with Ben Harper), The Waterboys, Brother JT, Julien Baker, The National and a marvelous new soundtrack which finds Jakob Dylan collaborating with Cat Power, Neil Young and Fiona Apple while updating classic Laurel Canyon songs. A few Colorado themed sets and old favorites are also included, and we bid farewell to Leon Redbone. I continue to be amazed and so grateful for your ears and financial support to continue this program. The cover star is Anastasia's cat Willow in Space!! Thank you all. https://paypal.me/pools/c/8beKwFWlHR
