Have an absolutely beautiful rest of your life.
An extra long edition of From The Basement finds us again saying goodbye. This time it’s Little Richard, Phil May of The Pretty Things, Jerry Stiller, Moon Martin and “Sweet Pea” Atkinson of Was (Not Was) fame. Not all passed due to Covid 19 but I did lose a dear friend to the pandemic by the name of Robert Kopcho. We knew him as “Chopper” or “Bobby” and in more ways than one he leaves a huge hole in our hearts. We’ll make a nod to Memorial Day and offer up some great new stuff from Wilco, Steve Earle, Neil Young, Matt Berninger, Jason Isbell, Butch Walker, White Denim, The Magnetic Fields, Peter Himmelman, Michael McDermott, The Jayhawks and the return of Badly Drawn Boy. Stay safe, wash your hands and thanks to all for your support at https://paypal.me/pools/c/8beKwFWlHR.
Days continue to blur into weeks as we continue our journey through the Trumplite Zone of 2020, the only centering lane to be found in these parts comes through the music, which thankfully never stops. On this episode of FTB there are new sonic delights from Nick Cave, Dramarama, Steve Forbert, Will Hoge, Birdthrower (produced by Ben Harper), Damien Jurado, American Aquarium, Car Seat Headrest, Peter Holsapple & Chris Stamey, Fantastic Negrito and perennial FTB faves The Pernice Brothers. We’ll link Prince with T. Rex, The Chambers Brothers, The Cavedogs, David Bowie, Craig Finn, Typhoon, Dion, The Cars and many more. We bid another farewell, this time to longtime Stranglers keyboard legend David Greenfield and keep hoping for a brighter tomorrow. Thanks for your generous support through donations at https://paypal.me/pools/c/8beKwFWlHR. It keeps us believing there are like-minded humans still around.
