Have an absolutely beautiful rest of your life.
It's hard to believe that Prince left for the after party in the sky exactly one year ago. Somehow it makes sense that "controversy" surrounds the planned release today of a "new" EP of music he recorded between 2006 and 2008. Although the information claimed 6 new songs, it is actually 5 songs and a remix of one. I've heard it all and my personal favorite is "No One Else" but the only one I can post at this time is the track "Deliverance."
Here's a batch of great new stuff in no particular order that makes my life worth living.
The Orwells song above is my favorite song at the moment of this posting, but the new album that Matthew Ryan is about to release (produced by Brian Fallon) is not only his best work ever, but likely in contention for album of the year.
HAPPY 70th BIRTHDAY James Osterberg, jr. aka iggy pop
I have been unable to update this blog due to an overwhelming sense of "what the fuck." More than halfway through my 60th year on the planet, the realization that society, culture, humanity and basic human decency may expire before me is alarmingly possible. I've always believed that we would be much further along the evolutionary wheel by the time I reached this age.
Oh well... shit happens, right?
The current occupant of The White House is not the reason everything seems to have gone off the rails. He is the result. It's been a battle to turn off the incessant noise of reality television becoming real life. Faces glued to that screen in their hand connected to everything all the time but really nothing at all.
At least we still have music. Here's some new things... but first a song that proves again how far ahead of the curve David Bowie always was.
Can't believe I went more than a month without posting but I've been in dental reconstruction hell, as well as very busy at work. That said, here's a few new and old things that I've been cranking in the Basement Studio recently.
Selling my CD collection.
