The first sonic entry into this new year and difficult as it is to remain optimistic, one can’t help feeling that we finally have the light at the end of the tunnel in sight. The mantra from the basement is just keep your ears open and let music heal our battered psyche. We have a pair of previously unreleased Dylan and Lennon covers from birthday boy David Bowie that arrived yesterday and also mark the birth of The King, Elvis Presley. Speaking of covers, Moon Duo give us a wonderful remake of a classic Black Sabbath tune and Steve Earle & The Dukes lovingly mourn the loss of Justin Townes Earle. The legendary Sly & Robbie return with a new album, as do personal favorites Kruder & Dorfmeister.
