I think we all need a distraction and I prefer them musical. A few new things from Elvis Costello, Karen O teaming up with Willie Nelson, the return of Michael Penn, an incredible new track from Daniel Lanois, Smokescreens flash us back to early Cure and R.E.M. and there’s a long overdue remaster of a true Power Pop cornerstone album from Van Duren. We try to make some sense or at least take a breather from a reality show experiment that has simply gone too far. Hopefully Sly, Jimi Hendrix, Bob Marley, Santana, John Martyn, Gang Of Four, Stevie Wonder, Kings Missile and Crimson, Neil Young, Brian Auger, Patti Smith, Patty Griffin and so much more will bring a smile.
