Out of love and respect, we begin with a tribute to Johnny Clegg, much more than just a musician/songwriter/performer/dancer, Mr. Clegg was a true example of courage, humanity and social justice. Johnny most assuredly put a positive dent in the culture of the world. New music is well represented and the bin is stuffed with fresh arrivals from Bones U.K., Wilco, Dylan LeBlanc, Bon Iver, Dhani Harrison, Toots and The Maytals, Michael Franti & Spearhead, Brittany Howard (stepping out of Alabama Shakes) and a new song from Jackson Browne and Leslie Mendelsen written for a gripping new film ("5B"). We’ll have more from the new Raconteurs album, a spiffy 20th Anniversary Edition of “Liquid Skin” from Gomez and single out one of my favorite songwriters previously unreleased performance at Woodstock from a massive new 50th Anniversary collection. Did you remember/know that Tim Hardin played the original festival? Listen for a connection linking Pistol Star, Grant Lee Buffalo, Novo Combo, Santana, Automatic Man and Stomu Yamashta’s Go, and utilizing the inspiring work of artists including The Plimsouls, Warren Zevon, The Blues Magoos, The War On Drugs, Robert Plant & Alison Krauss, E.L.O., Bloodstone, The Beat Farmers, Will Hoge, Ten Years After, War, The Wild Seeds, Poco, Richard Butler and more, once again attempt to display that there really are only two types of music. Stuff you like and stuff you don’t. Thanks for helping to keep the dream (and my family) alive. https://paypal.me/pools/c/8beKwFWlHR
