Have an absolutely beautiful rest of your life.
For the first time in many years I've had the opportunity to really take a break from what I do for a living, without dental reconstruction, illness or death/crisis in the family being the reason. Whew. These past five days are likely the longest consecutive stretch of time since February of 2001 that I have given my ears and brain a break on purpose. I rebooted. I needed it. We all do. That's not to say music wasn't played, quite the contrary since in my world music is as essential as air. But I only listened to exactly what I wanted to hear, without a thought of pleasing anyone but me. What a selfish twit, eh? Speaking of Twits, is it just me or is every day in the good ol' USA feeling more and more like it was written and directed by Rod Serling? I have never been more ashamed to be an American, or more afraid, and I came of age in the Nixon years.
This is some of the stuff played this week to calm my nerves and inspire a smile.
Can't believe I went more than a month without posting but I've been in dental reconstruction hell, as well as very busy at work. That said, here's a few new and old things that I've been cranking in the Basement Studio recently.
A perfect song for tonight... recorded in Wisconsin on The Charity Of Night Tour. Just Bruce, bass and drums rocking hard.

Not political... but they do come from Wisconsin!
They say love conquers all
You can't start it like a car
You can't stop it with a gun
He would have been 64 today and he left us way too young. His songs are timeless and real and they will never leave us. He was my favorite songwriter and I miss him every day.
