I seem to have been a major slacker here but sometimes simply run out of hours left in the day to post. Here's some things I've been listening to lately. First up is a track from this wonderful new Woody Guthrie project. Here's some background on the project: New music from Julian Cope is always welcome in the basement. One of my 10 favorite artists of all time every day of the week. His website is insanely great... click here. I just have a feeling that Daughter could be a band to watch. New Chuck Prophet album and a song that name checks the greatest ballplayer ever, #24 Willie Mays! How can you go wrong? This might be my favorite song of the year when all is said and done, it's certainly my current fave! Tommy Bolin was an amazing guitar player but like so many with "nasty habits" he left the planet entirely too soon. His playing on Billy Cobham's "Spectrum" album alone made him a very influential player. Read about this very cool new project here and listen to Warren Haynes and Tommy below on a song written by a very dear old friend of mine, Jeff Cook. Add Comment I've been so damn busy that I have neglected this page again. Sorry, I'll try to post more often. Here's some cool new stuff that I'm loving. |
